HUNT CAMP TRAIL DAY on Saturday and Sunday, August 19 & 20

Volunteers will help build a new extension trail by hand between lower Hunt Camp and Manzanita Fire Road to connect with Contour Trail. This is a rare opportunity to build an entirely new trail by hand in Open Space! The weekend is hosted by V-O-Cal (Volunteers for Outdoor California), a nonprofit that provides volunteer workforces for large-scale trail construction projects, habitat restoration, and related land stewardship activities on public lands.

  • Join in with neighbors, friends and Parks staff
  • Volunteer for one day or the weekend
  • Work on the trail or prepare meals at the basecamp
  • No experience necessary – tools and gloves provided
  • Free lunch both days for all volunteers
  • Optional camping overnight with fellow volunteers
